Caring for the elderly how do you keep people active?
Alan B asked:
I run a care home for the elderly, sometimes people just don’t want to do anything and may be depressed. I am looking for useful references in relation to appropriate help. Often the people concerned are actually content with their life, coming to terms with thier limitations and do not want to do anything and feel bullied by relatives to do more. This conflict is hard to resolve.

How do you feel about caring for your elderly parents in your own home?
Illuminate Me asked:
Thanks everyone for all your input. It is very touching. I almost can not believe that everyone is endorsing it, this must really be a good generation? or is it just that those that took time to answer wanted to encourage it. I HAVE A VERY DIFFICULT MOTHER IN LAW WHO DOES NOT GET ALONG WITH HER OWN CHILDREN BUT SHE IS ALONE AND LOTS OF INDICATION OF NEEDING ASSISTANCE IN DAILY LIVING. ALL YOUR ENCOURAGEMENT MAKE ME FEEL GOOD ABOUT SAYING YES TO CARING FOR HER. BLESS YOU ALL.

Questions regarding caring for an elderly relative?
Gonetoday asked:
How feasible is it to care for an elderly parent full time? My main questions is this: Would I be compensated for it to justify quitting my job? Where on the web could I find out more about this?
Another question I thought of: is this: Is it possible to be trained on his medical needs if they are not too involved?
BTW, I bring home about $300.00 clear a week now.

Advice on caring for elderly rats?
elaine c asked:
My poor gal Joyce is now past the 2 year mark and starting to have failing health. Her teeth get overgrown and we have to clip them back. Oddly after more than 10 years of rat breeding never had that problem for. Right now she loves peach apple sauce as a snack.
She is skinnier than she used to be.
Just wondering what other rat owners have found helpfull.
Lol is spoiled ratten.
More info she has never been a mom so she doesn’t have that to worry about.
